Bowers switches to Xentek for 2019!
Xentek are delighted to announce the signing Of Gus Bowers to the team ahead of next season’s GT5 Championship.
After making his debut last season, Gus has made the move to Xentek with the aim of securing consistent top 10 finishes in this ultra-competitive championship, with the goal of completing his two year “apprenticeship” in GT5, prior to moving up into other senior classes of motor sport.
Gus, who had no previous Karting or Junior experience, took the leap straight into the Ginetta GT5 Championship last year showing great potential, coupled with a real racer spirit throughout the season. Racing hard and having to get to grips with car set up, circuit layouts, race craft strategy and the inclement weather effects was a steep but very enjoyable experience, which culminated in a season best, top ten finish, at the rain soaked, technically demanding Knockhill Circuit.
A recent test at Silverstone showed off the benefits of his first season’s hard work, with competitive times throughout the day and great adaptation in tricky weather conditions.
Xentek’s Christopher Richards: “Myself and the team are really looking forward to working with Gus, his family and his sponsors next year. His decision to move straight into the Championship last year really shows his all-out attitude and that’s great to see in such a young driver who has the future motorsport ambitions and a desire to continue to develop with us.”
Gus Bowers: “I am very excited to continue my race career development in GT5 with my new team. Xentek provide a first class, consistent and exciting platform for me to further develop my racing career as a professional driver.”
“With the support of my existing partners; HereAfter Apparel and Eyesclear Ltd, plus the addition of an exciting new partnership with Sostratos Capital and additional Partners to be confirmed in 2019, I am excited for the opportunities on and off-track that the move will enable us to create.
The season Kicks off at Oulton Park on the 20th April with Qualifying and 3 races over the Easter weekend.
