Garlick Graduates to GT5.
Conner Garlick who appeared on the Ginetta Junior Grid in 2018 climbs the Ginetta ladder to join Xentek for the 2019 GT5 Challenge.
The 15-year-old from Allington who doesn’t turn 16 until the 27th April will unfortunately miss out on the first round at Oulton due to age restrictions in the senior GT5 class, meaning he will start his Campaign at the Thruxton BTCC round in May.
Conner made great progression through-out last year, gaining experience and confidence at every round in the Ginetta Junior Series, bringing his Junior career to an end on a high at Brands Hatch for the final round of the year finishing in the top 10 in Race 1 and Race 2.
He has started a comprehensive testing program set up by Xentek, working with the current British GT4 Champion Jack Mitchell to ensure the missed Oulton Park round does not hinder his chances of achieving a solid championship finish come Donnington Park in September.
Conner Garlick - “I am looking forward to my progression to the Ginetta GT5 challenge. Whilst still able to compete at a Junior level I want to push myself further. The GT5 series not only offers me a chance to do that but gives me an opportunity to experience a European round as well as supporting British GT and the BTCC “
Xentek's Sarah Jayne Mckenna – “We are really excited to be working with Conner this season, our recent Test days at Brands Hatch and Silverstone have shown that Conner is more than capable and ready to make this step. It’s a big step for someone at his age to make but he’s taken everything in his stride and is really getting to grips with upgraded more powerful Ginetta G40”.
The season kicks off at Oulton park on the 20th April with Qualifying and 3 races over the Easter Weekend.
