Xentek Motorsport are delighted to welcome back Conner Garlick and Phil McGarty to their driver line-up for the penultimate round of the 2023 Ginetta season this weekend at Brands Hatch (09/10 September).
The South Yorkshire team will once again enter two cars in the headline GT Pro class of the Protyre Motorsport Ginetta GT Championship as Garlick returns to the grid, while GT Academy racer McGarty is back with the team after previously racing with them in the GT5 Challenge.
Garlick contested the first half of the GT Championship season with Xentek and enjoyed some standout results, including a stunning breakthrough victory at Donington Park. After sitting out the last couple of rounds, the 20-year-old racer is champing at the bit to race his EU Tags-backed Ginetta G56 GTP again.
McGarty meanwhile is contesting his ninth consecutive season of one-make Ginetta racing. After contesting five seasons in the GT5 Challenge, including becoming an Am class race-winner with Xentek Motorsport, he’s made the switch to the GT Academy this year and has impressed with a handful of top ten finishes.
Christopher Richards – Team Principal: “We’re really pleased to have Conner [Garlick] back in GT Pro this weekend. He’s a very talented driver who had a lot of bad luck over the first half of the season, and we’re excited for him to have another opportunity to challenge for silverware this weekend.
“We really enjoyed racing with Phil [McGarty] in the past, so it’s great to have him back with us. It was a big step up to the G56 GTA from the GT5 Challenge and he’s made good progress so far, so we will be working hard to help him make more steps forward this weekend.”
