Xentek Motorsport are celebrating their best weekend of the 2025 Porsche Sprint Challenge GB campaign to date, with Sam Harvey and Hannah Chapman converting seasons’ best qualifying results into a brilliant haul of five podium finishes at Oulton Park (21/22 June).
The South Yorkshire team continued their fantastic start to their third Sprint Challenge GB campaign with an exemplary performance in Cheshire, as their Mairon Motorsport Management backed drivers Harvey and Chapman excelled across the latest triple-header weekend.
Reigning Clubsport Pro class vice-champion Harvey has shown huge potential since stepping up to the headline RS Pro category for 2025, and his hard work and progression across the opening two rounds culminated his best weekend to date at Oulton Park.
A superb performance in qualifying saw the Ginetta graduate finish second fastest overall to secure his maiden front-row starts. The opening race proved to be a challenging encounter, as rainfall halfway through led to the tricky combination of slick tyres on a wet track.
Harvey managed the conditions well to run second throughout and keep in touch with the race leader. A maiden podium was snatched from his grasp on the final lap though, as a questionable late move from the car behind at the last corner resulted in contact and dropped Harvey back to eighth in class.
The West Midlands-based racer put that disappointment behind him though and produced two flawless drives in the other races. On both occasions he kept the chasing pack at arms’ length as he ran second throughout for a richly-deserved first pair of overall Porsche podium finishes.
Chapman meanwhile headed into the event with four wins from the opening six races in the CS Am class. Her pursuit of further success started in perfect fashion, as she charged to the top of the timesheets in qualifying to secure her first class pole positions.
The Millers Oils Brand Ambassador produced an excellent drive in the tricky conditions in race one and came agonisingly close to victory, only losing out on the final lap. She wasn’t going to be denied in race two though, leading from lights-to-flag for a comprehensive six second victory.
Chapman was unlucky not to follow up her fifth win of the season with a sixth in the closing race. She impressively grabbed the race lead on the final lap to cross the line first, however a time penalty for track limits infringements dropped her to third. That still completed a podium hat-trick though, taking her tally to eight for the season and increasing her championship lead.
Sarah-Jayne McKenna – Xentek Motorsport Team Manager: “What a fantastic weekend! Sam and Hannah were right on it from the first lap in free practice and we’re delighted to see them follow up seasons’ best qualifying results with some brilliant race performances.
“Sam has worked hard to get closer to the front-running pace and it really clicked for him this weekend. After being cruelly taken out of a podium finish in the opening race, he bounced back superbly and his drives in the final two races were faultless. There are many more podiums to come from him.
“Hannah’s first pole positions were a great way to start the weekend. She was so close to the win in the first race, so to see her back on the top step in race two was awesome. Her podium consistency is very impressive and is doing wonders for her championship challenge.”
The 2025 Porsche Sprint Challenge GB season now heads into its summer break before returning to action at Knockhill in Scotland (16/17 August). Prior to that, Xentek Motorsport will be back on track at Snetterton (12/13 July) for the next round of the Ginetta campaign.
