Xentek Motorsport have continued their successful start to the 2025 Porsche Sprint Challenge GB season by securing a pair of podium finishes from the second round at Brands Hatch this past weekend (10/11 May).
The South Yorkshire team made the long trip down to the Kent circuit determined to build on a fantastic season opener at Donington Park last month with their Mairon Motorsport Management backed drivers Hannah Chapman and Sam Harvey.
Former tin-top racer Chapman excelled on her debut Porsche weekend with a perfect hat-trick of victories in the Clubsport Am class, while reigning Clubsport Pro vice-champion Harvey showed huge potential on his first outing in the headline RS Pro category.
Chapman backed up her supreme debut performance with another standout display at Brands Hatch. Qualifying third in class in her Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport, she held position into an early safety car period in the opening race before going on the offensive at the restart.
Quickly moving past Katia Loggie for second place, Chapman was unlucky to be on the receiving end of contact as her rival attempted to regain the position. While she went on to finish third on the road, post-race judicials decided in her favour and she was promoted to a deserved second place.
Chapman was once again on a charge in race two, moving up to second place and hunting down Loggie in the lead. A great switchback move at Clearways opened the door for an overtake into Paddock Hill Bend, however a robust defensive move from Loggie resulted in contact again.
The Millers Oils Brand Ambassador went on to finish fourth in class, but was able to bounce back perfectly in race three. Charging up from fourth to second on the opening lap, she went on to grab the lead soon after and stormed clear to a fourth win of the season, completing a hat-trick of class fastest laps for the weekend in the process.
Harvey firmly established himself inside the top six overall on his debut in the latest-generation RS car and the Ginetta graduate cemented his status as one to watch with another assured performance towards the sharp end of the field at Brands Hatch.
Right on the lead pace in qualifying, Harvey finished less than a tenth of a second shy of the front row of the grid in fifth. He started well in the opener before a small off-track excursion lost him ground, however a brilliant late overtake around Druids netted him seventh in class at the chequered flag.
Harvey bounced back in style with a great drive in race two, securing a fifth-place finish after being part of an exciting multi-car battle over third. The West Midlands-based racer concluded his weekend with another battling performance in race three, coming home eighth in class.
Sarah-Jayne McKenna – Xentek Motorsport Team Manager: “We’re delighted to have continued our fantastic start to the Porsche season. Qualifying didn’t go Hannah’s way due to traffic so she had to fight up the order, but she did a brilliant job with it and was unlucky to receive contact in both the first two races.
“She showed her resilience and determination though and produced a perfect drive in the final race to win again. Sam sadly didn’t get the results on paper that his pace deserved, but he should be proud of his performance having shown again that he has the speed to be in the fight for the overall podium.”
The 2025 Porsche Sprint Challenge GB season continues next month (21-22 June) with a trip to Oulton Park. It will be the team’s second visit to the Cheshire circuit in a matter of weeks, as they head there first for the next round of the Ginetta season over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend (24-26 May).
