Xentek Motorsport have celebrated a trio of podium finishes across the opening rounds of the Porsche Carwow Sprint Challenge GB at Donington Park (18/19 April) and the Protyre Motorsport Ginetta GT Championship at Silverstone (25/26 April).
The South Yorkshire team celebrated a brilliant double pole position and podium finish with Sam Harvey to kick off the Sprint Challenge GB campaign, before Alex Duncan charged to a pair of top three class results to begin his second year in the GT Championship.
For their fourth season in the Sprint Challenge GB, Xentek Motorsport are challenging for success across all three classes in the championship. Sam Harvey has overall glory in his sights in RS Pro, newcomer James Seale is looking to make his mark in RS Am alongside returning champion Hannah Chapman, while Alister Weston is a contender in Clubsport.
Entering his fifth consecutive season of racing with Xentek, Harvey got off to a perfect start at Donington Park as he charged to a double pole position in qualifying. He almost converted that into victory in race one, leading the majority of the race before dropping to second late on.
The 2025 race-winner almost added to his tally again in race two, winning on the road before an unfortunate time penalty dropped him to fifth. With racing laps proving limited in the final race, he took the chequered flag in fifth to sign off a hugely promising weekend with a top five treble.
Seale showed huge potential in his debut Sprint Challenge GB weekend in the hugely competitive RS Am category. The former Mazda racer got into the thick of the class podium battles from the off against a number of more experienced rivals, eventually coming away with a great pair of top six finishes.
2025 Clubsport champion Chapman put together a last-gasp deal to return to the grid, stepping into an RS Cayman. Unfortunate gearbox issues outside of the team’s control hampered her Saturday, followed by a puncture in race two, but she showed her potential with a fight forward to fifth in class in the closer.
Weston meanwhile has joined Xentek for his second year competing in the championship. After qualifying fifth in the Clubsport class, he impressively fought his way forward into podium contention in each of the opening two races, eventually taking a best result of fourth in class.
Christopher Richards – Team Principal: “It was a pretty challenging first round of the year for our Porsche squad, but all of our drivers clearly showed that they have the speed and potential to enjoy some fantastic results this season when luck is in their favour.
“Sam hit the ground running and put in an exceptional qualifying performance. He started with a great podium and was unlucky to see a penalty deny him the victory in race two, while sadly a safety car and a red flag halted any chance of progress in race three.
“James worked hard in pre-season testing to get up to speed with the Cayman and it showed this weekend, as he was in there straight away fighting it out with drivers with a least a season of experience in the car. It won’t be long until he’s picking up his first Porsche trophies.
“We’re absolutely gutted for Hannah, as she deserved more of a chance to show what she can do. The gearbox component issue was something outside of our control, but once it was eventually sorted by Porsche for race three, she got to stretch her legs and enjoy a few laps of racing.
“Alister is a fantastic addition to the team this year and we’ve really enjoyed racing with him for the first time. He’s been right in the mix for the Clubsport podium from the off and was unlucky not to come away with at least one trophy this weekend. We’re sure they’ll be plenty to come for him this season.
“A huge shoutout to everyone in the team for their efforts at Donington Park. It was a long few days, including travelling overnight on Saturday to get the parts needed to fix Hannah’s gearbox, and we’re so thankful for their dedication to the team and our drivers.”
Entering their 13th consecutive season of Ginetta competition, the ten-time champions are ready to challenge for glory in the GT Championship AM class with Duncan. The Scotland-based talent has high hopes for the new season after securing seven podium finishes across his debut campaign in 2025.
Duncan was on the pace at the top of the class from the off, going second quickest in official testing on Friday, before posting the third fastest time in qualifying. He made rapid progress at the start of race one, charging forward to first in class on the opening lap.
Staying out of trouble as others hit drama in the race, he maintained his class advantage from start-to-finish and rose to a brilliant third place overall. With a second-ever Ginetta class win under his belt, he then added a great third in class in race two to complete a fantastic opening event of the season.
Alongside their GT Championship programme, Xentek Motorsport have also made a return to the Ginetta Junior grid. Continuing their partnership with Paradine Competition, they have run their young talents Vicky Farfus and Samuel Del Gaudio for the opening two rounds of the season.
The season began at Donington Park earlier this month (11-12 April), with both drivers showing great progress on their Ginetta debuts. Farfus, daughter of professional GT driver Augusto, scored a pair of points finishes in Leicestershire, while Del Gaudio just missed out on opening his points account.
They continued their campaign at Silverstone with more battling performances across three action-packed races. Farfus excelled with another points result in the opening race, as Del Gaudio continued his strong progression with three more hard-fought finishes.
Sarah-Jayne McKenna - Team Manager: “Alex did a brilliant job at Silverstone. With all the experience under his belt from 2025, his pace was fantastic from the off and to start the year on the top step of the podium was great. Two podiums to his name so far and there are plenty more to come.
“We’re delighted to have continued our partnership with Paradine Competition and made our return to the Ginetta Junior grid. Vicky and Samuel are both extremely talented young drivers and as they gain experience in a competitive series, they are sure to both rise up the grid.”
Both championships will now head to Oulton Park in Cheshire for their next rounds of the season; the Ginetta UK Championships next month (23-25 May) and the Porsche Carwow Sprint Challenge GB two weeks’ later (06/07 June).
